On Sat Sep 17th we had our third annual "Break-a-Thon" in Eglinton Park - we had a great turnout and together the masters and students broke over 2,000 boards!!
Thanks to all of you who participated!! - it was a great team effort. The money raised went towards upgrades for our school.

Parents Meeting
On Sat Oct 1st we had our first Parents meeting - this was a chance for parents to give feedback on their children's progress with our Tae Kwon Do program and to ask questions to the masters.There was valuable feedback and lively discussions that took place and overall it was a very positive and beneficial meeting. We will be holding the next one in the new year and will advise the date well in advance. We hope to have many more parents participate next time!
Master Foroughi's Second "Rising Stars" Tae Kwon Do Tournament:
Date: Saturday, November 5th
Time: Children Check In: 9:30am - 10:00am
Childrens Competition: 10:00am - 1:00pm
Adult Check In/ Lunch : 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Adult Competition: 2:00pm - 5:00pm Cost: $35.00 + tax Location: Master Foroughi's Tigerkim Martial Arts Academy
We strongly encourage all students to participate as this is a great way for our students to develop their confidence, demonstrate their skills and technique- most importantly to have FUN and help build our school spirit!!
All students from our Richmond Hill location and the Dowtown school are invited to participate. However, this is not open to outside schools.
Kids Movie Night:
Date: Friday, November 18th
Time: 5pm - 8pm
Location: Master Foroughi's Tigerkim Martial Arts Academy
Cost: $10.00 (cost covers food, movie and games.)
Colour Belt Testing
Date: Saturday, November 26th
Time: 10:30am (please arrive at 10am for warm up)
Annual Holdiay Party
Date: Friday, December 9th
Time: 6pm - 9pm
Location: Master Foroughi's Tigerkim Martial Arts Academy
We will be holding a Silent Auction for charity - all gift donations are welcome. There will be a Pot Luck also so please bring your favourite dishes! We also invite you to bring your friends and family - this is a great time to get to know your fellow students, instructors, and masters better!!
We will have fun games, food, music, and a TKD demo!
Please note that we now have instructional DVD's for sale that cover the full curriculum from White Belt up to Orange Belt. In addition there is extra footage on the DVD's of past demo's and events we have held where you can see some amazing Tae Kwon Do techniques. (*there will be another DVD's produced shortly that will cover the Green to Brown Belt curriculum).
The cost is $29.00 for the DVD - this is well worth it as it helps all students (Adults and Kids) to remember their curriculum.

How will competing in sports at a young age help children later in life?
Children who get involved with sports at an early age are more likely to maintain a good level of fitness and activity throughout their life.
All sports can help kids boost self-confidence, improve coordination, and build discipline, focus and respect. Team sports teach social skills and cooperation, and give kids a solid foundation and sense of belonging and partnership.
Developing a child's competitiveness while teaching them to both win and lose gracefully can help them tackle the obstacles and accept the setbacks that life will naturally encompass.
Many adults who are leaders and volunteers in the community are giving their time and experience to help make the sport(s) they enjoyed as youngsters enjoyable for another generation of children.
